Two years have passed since the duo Lemaitre released "Substellar", to rave reviews from both the press and the public. Dagbladet rolled 5 on the dice, while Aftenposten raised it to 6 and dubbed it "the best electronica album of the year in Norway", and the guys consolidated their position as one of our absolute premise providers in their genre.

Recently, they finally returned with the EP "RED", led by well-received songs such as "In your mind" and the last single "Pixel heart" (rated 5 in Aftenposten). The EP shows a duo with an evolving sound, and carries with it a sound with allusions to both French house and the European club scene. The result is a grand and uncompromising floor-filler, which also shows them even more clearly from a duo format.

"We did some DJ sets before Covid, but the duo format between us has primarily existed in the studio. It's always been natural for us to have an extended family on stage, and it still is, but the pandemic made us perhaps even more curious about what it would be like to move that process out of the studio and out to people," says Ketil, who says the club scene has been a big inspiration for both of them.

"Lemaitre has always had an element of sounding big, and that has helped create the live show you might associate with us. We've by no means put that behind us, and will be rolling out both a horn section and a hyper Markus Neby on stage. But you don't want to get too comfortable in the familiar, and the club format is in many ways the opposite, and for two people who are usually surrounded by a small armada on stage, it's aggravating to say the least. The audience gives an immediate response if what you're doing isn't working. It stops completely. In return, you get the same confirmation when you hit. It's scary as hell and liberating at the same time," laughs Ulrik.

However, both can assure that anyone who holds Lemaitre dear will feel right at home on the tour. "We're brushing the dust off the whole artillery, and we haven't become Steve Aoki overnight!" says Ketil with a laugh.

In the wake of "RED", a tour will take them to Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger in September! The shows will mark both "RED" and their almost 15-year career as a duo, with their well-known big live lineup consisting of, among others, a brass section and Markus Neby in perfect union with a club setting where the guys themselves are behind the controls.

And as if that wasn't enough - more music is on the way before the tour starts in September.
