Planetariumviewing: Samsara (2023)
A visual and spiritual film on the Storsal ceiling about Buddhist reincarnation.
Samsara is about a group of young monks in a temple in Laos who follow a soul’s journey from one body to another through the bardo — the state between death and rebirth. The journey takes them from the temple in Laos to a group of female workers in the seaweed farms of Zanzibar. This beautiful and immersive film has been chosen as our only planetarium screening this semester.
About the planetarium screening:
On rare occasions, we show films on the ceiling of the Main Hall! These are usually particularly visual and grand films. We provide pre-inflated mattresses, but you’re welcome to bring your own blankets and pillows for maximum comfort. We have mattresses for about 40 people — first come, first served, as long as capacity allows.
