Docutuesday: Brothers (2015)
“a beautiful and poetic description of a norwegian childhood”.
In a delicate balance between windswept Smøla and busy Sagene in Oslo, the brothers Markus and Lukas grow up. With a film camera as their mother, director Aslaug Holm documents the daily lives of her sons over 8 years. With the camera, Aslaug manage to capture the incredible process from who we are in the beginning to who we become. The documentary takes us on a nostalgic journey back in time, a Norwegian childhood in the 2000s. It’s impossible not to grow fond of the quarrelsome yet loving brothers, as well as cry and laugh alongside.
