Grief, childhood and Bergen
When Marias little brother dies from cancer, her mother dissappears into grief. Maria is sent to her grandparents in Bergen for the summer. It is here she meets open and cheerful Jakob who lives in her building. With Jacob she runs around in this beautiful town filled with rain and cobblestones and regains both her joy and her mother.
