There has never been any doubt that music has had a large and decisive place in the life of 26-year-old Stefanos Yowhannes. From as early as he can remember, everyday life has been strongly influenced by artists and storytellers such as D'Angelo, Stevie Wonder and Lauryn Hill. The ability to tell stories through music became something in his teens, which he himself also began to develop, and since then the goal has been to immerse himself in musical diversity with inspiration from people, stories and surroundings he stumbles upon.
When he moved abroad in the early 20s, and eventually settled in Amsterdam, he was introduced to a completely different music scene. Here he joined the indie rock band "Botanic" as a songwriter and vocalist. In addition, he sought more and more inspiration from electronic dance music in stark contrast to his early influences. Today, Yowhannes thrives best in the layer between sore alternative R&B, electronic indie tones and neo-soul, which can be heard on the debut EP "Neo Noir" from 2021.
Yowhannes was well received for his debut concert during Wild Wild West September 2021. NRK P3 has also lifted Yowhannes as an artist they have believed in in the future.
