Vaginamonologene
"Klokka er ti om kvelden - vet du hvor klitoris er?" Studentersamfundet's Internal Theater presents Vaginamonologene by Eve Ensler.
This play is in Norwegian.
The play is based on interviews with over 200 women in the age range between seven to seventy. Through real stories of abuse and lovemaking, oppression and orgasmic pleasure, shame and female pride, the naked truth about the woman comes out.
Why are vaginas so difficult to talk about? In this theater production the vagina gets undressed word for word, in an attempt to normalize the female sex organ.
Vaginamonologene offers both laughter and tears, and an insight into the woman's perspective on their own gender.
Writer Eve Ensler, who wrote the play in 1996, was herself abused and believed that the piece was written as a tribute to the vagina and femininity, as well as a movement towards stopping violence against women.
