59-festival // thursday

Kick off the semester with three days full of music. The 59-Festival is finally back, hosted on the stage: Vuelie. Don't miss out on energetic concerts and a wide variety of music!

Time Thursday 09. JANUAR
20:59 Pusekatter mjau mjau Sinna
21:59 Bare Are
22:59 Fuzzycat Organ Quartet

Pusekatter mjau mjau Sinna

"Pusekatter Mjaumjau Sinna" was founded in January 2022 by Ada Odegard Risberg and Tomine Barstad Solvang. The concept was born out of rage against patriarchal party structures but also a love for quirky and naive lyrics. The duo produces hit after hit, drawing from genres like hip-hop, punk, pop, and metal.

Their music can be described as catchy, funny, absurd, and sexy. Released under the feminist record label Olivias Rekorder, their sound is as bold as it is playful.

When they head to Trondheim, the Pusekatter won’t come alone – they’re bringing their loyal entourage: Cowboy Katt, DJ Mjau, and Rockepus.

Bare Are

The quintessential Trøndelag rapper, Bare Are, brings a mix of heavy beats and sharp rhymes over soulful samples to the 23:59 Festival on Thursday, January 9th!

With intricate lyrics at the forefront and heavy beats as the foundation, Bare Are’s tracks hit the audience hard – but in the best way possible.

In September, he released his debut album Rubbel og Beats alongside his DJ and producer Martin Blom, aka m4artin. Bare Are's lyrics explore a fascination with the everyday, the quirky, the tiny details, and the things larger than life. The productions flow seamlessly between hard-hitting beats that pack a punch and dreamy, old-soul ballads that tug at your heartstrings (and/or your smile).

Since the album release, Bare Are has already performed two shows in Oslo and one in his hometown of Trondheim. His concerts so far have been nothing short of smashing successes, and he’s determined to keep that streak going.

Fuzzycat Organ Quartet

Fuzzycat Organ Quartet, based in Oslo, is an avant-garde Art Rock band on a
mission to infuse the masses with fuzz and madness. Their music comprises
fuzzy sonic landscapes, powerful grooves, piercing tones, and vocals that teeter
on the edge of insanity and fragility. Drawing inspiration from renowned acts such
as Pom Poko, Viagra Boys, Primus, and Deerhoof, Fuzzycat Organ Quartet
injects additional layers of absurdity, raw emotion, joy, and weight into the realm
of Art Rock.
