Docufilm: On the Adamant (2023)
A unique documentary about a mental health day center on the Seine in Paris.
Floating on the Seine in Paris is the Adamant, a day center for people with mental health challenges. In an unconventional approach, the center uses drawing, music, dance, and other creative expressions to provide stability and meaning to lives marked by turmoil. Nicolas Philibert's documentary, which won the Golden Bear in Berlin, follows both the users and staff at Adamant over time. The film is a warm and non-judgmental portrait of people leading challenging lives, full of fresh ideas and constructive approaches to mental health.
