Soft Ride // 23:59

Soft Ride plays suitably off-kilter indie rock and has been compared to artists like Kurt Vile and The War on Drugs. On their latest album, the country elements are more pronounced than before.

The slightly secret indie gem of a band, Soft Ride, is coming to Trondheim and Samfundet for the very first time!
In May, the band released their third album, Southern Lands, to glowing reviews. The website Popklikk named it one of the best albums of the year, and Kristin Winsents on NRK P13 declared: “Soft Ride IS the sound of summer!” All of the album’s singles have been in rotation on NRK P13 and have also been played by The Undertones bassist Michael Bradley on the BBC.
Soft Ride plays perfectly off-kilter indie rock and has been compared to artists like Kurt Vile and The War on Drugs. On their latest record, the country elements are more pronounced than before (they’re even joined by Embla Karidotter), while still keeping their West Coast, laid-back sound intact. The songs revolve around nihilism, queer love, foolish love, and joyful hedonism. Soft Ride is music for the open road and for life itself.
The band features musicians from Kristi Brud, Electric Eye, and Silja Sol, to name a few, and comes to Samfundet following blazing gigs in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, and Tromsø.
