Mona Krogstad Quartet || VUELIE
TuesdayJazz in Vuelie... Classic sign of a coming spring
Mona Krogstad is a saxophonist and composer, educated at the Jazz Department at NTNU in Trondheim and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Mona believes that music is one of the most beautiful forms of communication we humans create with one another, and she is fascinated by how the language of music can hold infinitely many images, emotions, and moods.
The Mona Krogstad Quartet is a band consisting of highly active musicians who met in Trondheim four years ago. Through strong compositions and beautiful melodies, the music of the Mona Krogstad Quartet moves within a landscape that opens up for improvisation and playful interplay. The music draws inspiration from the old jazz tradition and saxophonists such as Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson, as well as from more modern and Scandinavian jazz.
Line-up:
Mona Krogstad – tenor saxophone
Hogne Kleiberg – piano
Kertu Aer – double bass
Veslemøy Narvesen – drums
