The philosophy of love with Einar Duenge Bøhn
Does love merely fill our hearts, or does it fill our very lives with meaning? Or does it really fill anything at all? Philosopher and author Einar Duenger Bøhn is coming to Samfundet to shine a philosophical light on the mysterious nature of love—while also performing a couple of self-written love songs.
“What is love, really? Is it a fundamental force that gives life its meaning? In this lecture, I will discuss the thesis that love is a fundamental force in reality—one that may drive not only us human beings, but the entire universe. The lecture will be interwoven with musical elements in the form of self-composed love songs, illustrating parts of what I am trying to express. The lecture is part of a small tour preparing for both a music and book release in 2026. There will be as much show as tell!”
Einar Duenger Bøhn (b. 1977) is a professor of philosophy at the University of Agder.
