Cowboyfrokost // 23:59
Cowboyfrokost rides through music's Wild West without a map or compass, stopping wherever the wind takes them—whether it's country, americana, singer-songwriter, or pop. As modern-day cowboys, they like to say they're more on the "looking after cattle" side of cowboy life than the outlaw side. The band was born at a backyard party, but today they write original songs filled with storytelling, warm harmonies, and the wide range of musical influences that all six members grew up with.
After five years of covering country-inspired songs, Cowboyfrokost took the leap into original music last autumn. Their debut EP, Order Up!, marks the beginning of the band's own distinctly Texan universe, where classic country and americana influences meet pop sensibilities and Scandinavian melodies. Order Up! is both a first step and a promise of more to come, and the band has already established itself as a compelling live act with a distinctive sound and identity.
Based in Oslo, Cowboyfrokost's roots stretch across much of southeastern Norway—from Kristiansand, Farsund, and Grimstad in the south, to Oslo and Fredrikstad. The band consists of Frida Pernille Johannessen, Ingrid Akselsen, Selma van der Hagen, Oscar B. Berg, Eirik Øverby Vist, and Eirik Buflaten. Although each member grew up with a different relationship to country music, they share the same ambition: bringing country music to the people.
