Sigurd Rogde // 23:59
Sigurd Rogde writes songs about pretty much everything that exists in the world: himself, other people, piss and shit. Sometimes he also writes songs about things from other worlds, such as dogs and cats.
His lyrics explore the space between the important and the irreverent, between the painful and the silly, between the difficult and the playfully easy—and probably between other things he hasn’t thought about and pretends he has if someone suggests it. He does this by drawing surprising and strange images that make everyday life seem unfamiliar, making you stop for a moment and scratch your nose.
When he’s not writing songs, he’s in his room, on the toilet, or pretending to be somewhere else. He is a member of Hersleb Visekollektiv, which hosts singer-songwriter evenings every other month at Hjelms gate 3, inviting various artists (so far including Daniela Reyes, Symre, Bare Folk, Kaja Gunnufsen, and Lars Klevstrand) to perform in a cosy living room for a cheap ticket price. Through HVK’s singer-songwriter nights, he has made a small name for himself among those particularly interested in the Norwegian singer-songwriter scene.
Events at the Student Society can be adapted for visitors with movement and hearing impairment. See here for more information.
