SKAAR

This autumn, SKAAR and her band are embarking on a small, intimate tour. The shows will feature both new music from her upcoming album and the songs the audience already knows.

It has been three years since SKAAR released her previous album, Mad Woman, and now the artist can reveal that new music is on the way. This time, the focus has been on returning to her roots: the music she loved growing up, the joy of playing, and the feeling of being truly present in the moment.

"A big part of the writing process for this project has been reclaiming things and references I loved while growing up. That means, among other things, playing endless amounts of guitar, crying to old Coldplay songs, and listening to rock music with my band."

This same approach has shaped the recording of the upcoming album. This spring, SKAAR and her band went into the studio and recorded the entire album live, together. It became a way to get closer to the music and each other, while also tuning out some of the surrounding noise.

"Throughout this process, I’ve felt how liberating it is to put down the phone and step away from social media, allowing me to really dive deep into the work and rediscover a kind of childlike joy in music. It’s been so much fun and so rewarding that I wanted to share that feeling with you all!"

In October, she is taking her band on the road for what she describes as her very first rock club tour. These concerts will offer the first chance to hear the new songs in smaller venues, where the band and the audience are close to one another. At the same time, there will of course be room for old favorites and tracks from SKAAR’s previous releases. For SKAAR, this tour is just as much about the atmosphere in the room as it is about presenting new music—evenings where phones can hopefully stay in pockets a little longer, and where both band and audience can be present in the same moment.
