Skepticism Week: WHO OWNS EUROPE?
What does it actually mean to be European?
Europe likes to think of itself as secular, tolerant and modern. But where did its values come from? And who gets to define them today?
As Europe become increasingly secular and religiously diverse, the question of its identity is becoming harder to ignore. Is Europe fundamentally Christian? Has scularism replaced Christianity, or simply inherited much of its framework? And what role should islam play in Europe's future?
Join us for a lively panel discussion bringing together an atheist Oxford professor, a Muslim sheikh, and a Christian professor of Islam to debate Europe`s past, present and future.
We`ll ask the uncomfortable question
