at Studentmediene
Studentmediene (SM)

Want to develop innovative media solutions for students in Trondheim?

As an IT developer at Studentmediene you will have the opportunity to work with a group of developers who like to program and make cool stuff together. We develop websites, systems and tools for both our volunteers in Studentmediene and students in both Trondheim and the rest of Norway. All our services are operated by a separate department in-house, so the position also gives you an opportunity to learn about IT operations in a mid-size company, if you’re interested.

The time used in this position is divided into relevant training, development and meetings, all of which are valuable experience you can put on your CV. We have a lot of social happenings, both with Studentmediene and Samfundet in general. The working hours are flexible; we all work together one day a week, Monday evening. There we all sit together working, including a meeting. The rest of the time is organized in smaller focused groups working on the same project. No past experience is necessary, but it might be an advantage.
Some of our projects:

Momus is a content management system for our journalists, where they can organize their articles for each production cycle, and also view the current status. It is written in Java with the Spring framework and uses AngularJS in the frontend.

iBok is a marketplace for selling and buying used books which is commonly used by students all over Norway. It is written in PHP with the CodeIgniter framework and AngularJS in the frontend.
Radiorevolt.no is the webpage used by our radio, where you can listen live or at past broadcasts and read news articles. The website is written in NodeJS with ReactJS in the frontend and MongoDB as database.
We also have some smaller projects, and are constantly looking for new ones.

For more information about the job description, please contact the IT manager, Simon Borøy-Johnsen, on telephone +47 913 45 548 or email it-sjef@studentmediene.no. If there are other questions about the admission, please contact the group leader Renate Sørgård on telephone +47 984 04 753, or email gjengsjef@studentmediene.no.
