UKA is Norway’s largest cultural festival and the oldest student week. It has been held in Trondheim every other autumn since 1917, except during the war years of 1941 and 1943.

The UKE Revue is perhaps UKA’s most important event. Each UKE Revue has a unique name, which is also carried by the corresponding UKE. The name remains secret until the festival opens.

In addition to the revue, a children’s theater is staged. We also have KUPiUKA, a small group that contributes creatively to various projects before and during UKA, including courses, construction, sewing, and fun antics.

Weekends during UKA are special. The all-weather jacket is swapped for formal attire, and each weekend has its own character. B-weekend is the city’s weekend. This weekend features, among other things, the premiere performance of the UKE Revue. Genuine Trønders, the city’s many students, the mayor, and a handful of celebrities are invited for the occasion, and Studentersamfundet is filled with spectators for UKA’s opening weekend.

G-weekend is the alumni weekend. The city fills with former students from Trondheim, who return to their student city to experience nostalgia and reconnect with the unique UKE feeling.

S-weekend stands for the students’ weekend. This weekend is not only for the city’s students but also for students from across the country, who get to experience the UKE feeling.

H-weekend is the House Folk’s weekend. It is held in honor of everyone who is or has been a volunteer at Samfundet, UKA, or ISFiT. This weekend also marks the conclusion of the entire festival before Samfundet returns to normal operations.
