Walk for Peace

On April 9, all of Trondheim comes together for solidarity, unity, and peace. In uncertain times, it is more important than ever that we stand together and show that community is greater than the sum of individuals. That together we create space for hope. Join a collective action for peace and participate in the “Walk for Peace”!

Walk for Peace in Trondheim is an opportunity to gather and walk together in solidarity for peace. ISFiT and the Student Peace Prize have a tradition of walking together in the Walk of Peace in solidarity with the winners of the Student Peace Prize before the award ceremony. Now, all of Trondheim is invited to meet and walk together for peace!
ISFiT and the Student Peace Prize, together with Sit, Olavsfest, and Velferdstinget in Gjørvik, Ålesund, and Trondheim, have been inspired by Walk for Peace, where a group of monks in America walk to promote peace, humanity, and nonviolence.
We meet at Trondheim Torvet at 17:30 for a welcome speech, appeals and concert by Sara Fjeldvær before the march starts at 18:00. We want the march to be experienced as an open and inclusive community for everyone. Therefore, we ask that no slogans or flags be brought, so that the focus remains on our common message of unity, solidarity, and peace.
Program:
17:30 Gathering at the square and welcome speech by ISFiT President, Jon Bergland
17:40 Choir and concert with Sara Fjeldvær
18:00 The march leaves the square
After the march , the doors open at Edgard café at Studentersamfundet, where A Peace of Cake will be served.
Here, there will be an opportunity to gather, mingle, and continue the unity we create in the procession.
We look forward to gathering all of Trondheim and walking together for peace!
