Good Governance
The term governance, as generally used, encompasses all aspects of the way a country, corporation, or other entity is governed. Corruption and governance are closely linked. On one hand, where there is poor governance, there are greater incentives and more scope for corruption. On the other hand, corruption undermines governance to the extent that it distorts policy decisions and their implementation.
ISFiT would like to announce the speakers at the plenary session on the 8th of February: Jonathan Shapiro, Richard J. Battaglia and Sony Kapoor.
Shapiro is the Integrity Compliance Officer managing the World Bank’s portfolio of sanctioned entities. Prior Shapiro served as an Assistant District Attorney and his investigative expertise included cases involving complex fraud and corruption, and standards of conduct violations.
Battaglia is a partner in Steptoe’s Chicago office and his practice focuses on anti-corruption laws, anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, and export controls.
Sony Kapoor, Managing Director of international think tank Re-Define, is an influential economist, financial sector expert and development practitioner.
