Become a debate coordinator at ISFiT!
Debate and Discussion is the team within the Culture section that organizes and conducts thematic discussions, debates, and other engaging platforms for conversations on critical topics related to power. We will be hosting more than seven different events where we challenge the concept of a debate, exploring everything from economic and political power to more nuanced topics such as technology and healthcare.
We are looking for debate coordinators to help during the festival with all the essential details that make a panel discussion, fireside chat, or casual talk run smoothly. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, setting up and taking down equipment, monitoring schedules, providing refreshments, and other crucial tasks that ensure debate events go off without a hitch. If you’re interested in a low-threshold volunteer position where you can contribute to meaningful spaces for thought-provoking learning, reflection, and understanding of how we are influenced by power every day—both directly and indirectly—then this role is for you. You’ll work three shifts during the festival, with no prior experience required. Before the festival, there will be bi-weekly meetings and fun social gatherings with the rest of the Debate and Discussion team. Join us for an incredible journey through these themes with a passionate team!
We’re looking forward to reading your applications and hope you want to join us on this thematic journey alongside Debate and Discussion!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Best regards,
Emma Tomlinson
