As part of the Communications Board, the role contributes to the overall communication strategy and works closely with other communication leaders to ensure clear and consistent external messaging.

The Head of Press builds and maintains relationships with local, national, and international media, ensuring strong and accurate media coverage before, during, and after the festival. This includes shaping the press strategy, identifying media opportunities, and coordinating press activities across the organization.

The role leads the Press Team by guiding team members, distributing responsibilities, and ensuring effective collaboration throughout the planning period. It also oversees the production and distribution of press materials such as press releases, media briefings, and press kits.

During the festival, the Head of Press facilitates media coverage and supports journalists by coordinating access to information, interviews, and events in collaboration with program and communication teams.

Previous experience is preferred but not required, and the role is open to anyone interested in learning more about media work in a festival setting.
