The role helps ensure that the work of the Press Team runs smoothly and that the festival’s media outreach is coordinated and effective throughout the planning period and during the festival itself.

Working closely with the Head of Press, the Assistant Head contributes to the implementation of the press strategy and assists in coordinating the team’s ongoing work. This includes supporting the preparation of press materials, maintaining dialogue with journalists, and helping ensure that relevant information about the festival reaches the media in a timely and professional manner.

The Assistant Head of Press also plays an important role in internal coordination, helping to maintain communication within the team and between the Press Team and other departments of ISFiT. The role requires flexibility and the ability to step into different tasks when needed, particularly during periods of high activity.

The Assistant Head of Press is also part of the Communications Board when representing the Head of Press. When the Head of Press is unable to attend board meetings, the Assistant Head takes over their responsibilities and ensures that the perspectives and needs of the Press Team are represented in the board’s discussions and decisions.
Through this role, the Assistant Head of Press gains insight into both the strategic and operational aspects of media work in a large international student festival.

Previous experience is not required, and the role is open to anyone interested in learning more about media work in a festival setting.
